Blister-packed capsules are ideal when you're relying on water from feed stations at events, if mixing up drinks during your longer activities isn't practical, or if you prefer plain water to even the mildest of sports drinks. They're also useful for topping up the electrolyte content of other drinks. 15 capsules per box, 250mg of sodium per capsule. Swallow with water.

These are popular for road runners, considering the convenience of being able to take capsules when grabbing water at aid stations. They can also work for any athlete who just prefers to drink plain water but still needs to hit their sodium targets. Each capsule delivers 250mg of sodium so it’s easy to take in more or less sodium depending on how much water you’re drinking, ultimately matching your relative sodium concentration. We’ve seen athletes cut them into strips for easy access or tape individual capsules to gel packets.

Swallow 1-3 capsules for every ~500ml of water you consume during sweaty exercise lasting more than about 90 minutes.
